With transition to the market economy in Russia a need arose for an independent surveyor's services. In consequence the first independent survey companies emerged.

Generally speaking, a survey is a detailed inspection requiring a wide range of professional expertise and binding responsibilities that can be performed in various production and transport fields.

"Seames" is one of the first survey companies in Russia created by the enthusiasm of its founders without a penny of foreign or any other outside investment.

The company was founded in 1992 with its head office in Kaliningrad. Initially the survey company specialized in different aspects of the maritime transportation industry trade only, later extending its activities to the railway and road transportation.

The main field of the company's activity is inspection of the damaged facilities and cargoes and investigation of the circumstances, cause and extent of their damage. As a rule, a surveyor is called on to settle the matter in dispute that the parties of the conflict fail to solve without an independent surveyor's assistance.

The International Surveyor Code comprises a long list of requirements for qualification, working experience, education, certification etc. that a professional surveyor should meet. But the first and foremost requirement an independent surveyor should meet is to be objective and unbiased.

The company "Seames" is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and Byelorussia, has been licensed by both the RF Ministry of Transport and Russian State Technical Inspection and recognized by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping. The company's expertise and practice in quality control inspection have been certificated by BUREAU VERITAS under the ISO-9002.

Geographical location bordering the European countries and those of the Baltic States enables our company surveyors to respond to a request call from abroad at short notice and render their assistance promptly and without delay. The advantage of crossing the Polish and Lithuanian borders visa-free enhances our surveyors' quick response and facilitates their immediate actions requested. The company has its branch offices in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vyborg, Murmansk, Novorossiysk, Temryuk, Kerch (the Crimea), Brest (Buelorussia), Samara and the River Volga region.

The established relationship of continued and effective cooperation with our colleagues abroad makes it possible for our experts to promptly respond and undertake an assignment from almost any part of the world. The company's professional liabilities are covered by the insurance company "Ingosstrakh".

All the company's experts/surveyors have a good command of English. Survey Reports are issued either in English or in Russian depending on the Client's request/order.

    Provision of information to the Client :

  • The surveyor or expert provides a preliminary survey report on his initial findings by fax/email as soon as possible after the first inspection.
  • When the survey is complete, a formal and full report is prepared and sent to the Client without delay, illustrated if appropriate by relevant documents, calculations, photographs, diagrams, video materials etc., but in any event no later than 5 days after the completion of the inspection. The exact reporting time periods are to be agreed upon with the Client and stipulated by the contract. If necessary, progress reports are sent daily by fax/email in the form of Statements or Daily Reports accompanied by digital photographs.
It should be noted that the information a preliminary survey report provides is always sufficient enough for the Client to promptly make an appropriate damage report or a claim.
